I'm Back!!!

Wow! It's been about two months since my last post! A lot has been going on around here from working, to traveling, to fixing the house up(yes we are still workin on it), to spending time with our families, and just tryin to fit in cupcake time with each other. ;)

I had mentioned that I got the coaching job, well that season is already over and we went 7-5! Not bad for my first time coaching! But boy are 12-13 year old girls a challenge ;) haha the things they say and do kill me. But I am so glad I had the opportunity to coach those girls, it was pretty fun and I also got to get back in the game and pitch to them. Can't wait for next season!

What I wanted to share was my big project I did yesterday! I have always wanted to Chevron a wall in my house.  I looked it up on how to videos, on pinterest, and everywhere else.  My head started spinning so I just went to home depot and just winged it.  Sometimes wingin it turns out the best! ;) Sorry I didn't take step by step pictures but I'll explain what I did.

Well it Looks a little crazy but:
1. First thing I did was make a grid on the entire wall.  I started in the top right corner and worked my way left. My squares were 12in x 12in and I used a yard stick and a leveler. I used a pencil but next time I would use chalk so you can just wipe it away.  I have to go back and erase all the pencil marks. Stupid me.
2. After the entire wall has squares all over it I started taping.  BEWARE it will take FOREVER to tape!  and I also went through an entire roll of painters tape. lol The way you tape you go from one corner to the other corner and you make a zig zap all the way across. I put little pieces of tape down where I don't want to paint.
3.  Make sure you push the tape down super hard to make sure there is no bleeding when you start to paint. I learned this the hard way when I did my bedroom. ;)
4. Start painting! I used one of the mini paint rollers that comes with its own paint sheet thingy.
5. As soon as your done painting all the zig zags immediately go back to the top and start taking the tape off.  Take your time, the paint will still be wet on the tape and you don't want to drop that on your carpet! (bryant would kill me if I got teal on our brand new carpet.;)
6. After alllll the tape is off the wall I went back and went over some spots that didn't get covered all the way. but beeeeeee CAREFUL not to ruin all your hard hard work!
7. TADA! You have your very own chevron wall! :)

Okie dokie! Thats all for now! I'll be back sooner than last time! ;)

Aunt Diana's Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Aunt Dianas Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Once you bake these delicious cookies you'll never go back! But I will warn you, this recipe makes about 4-5 dozen. haha I usually just make 2 dozen and then freeze the rest.

Ingredients:
1/2 a package of Dark brown sugar
4 sticks of butter( I used the cheap Imperial butter, but my Aunt Diana swears by the Golden and Soft Margine, so get that if you can!)
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
6 cups of flour
2 tsp of baking soda
2 tsp of salt
1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 package of milk chocolate chips

1. Blend together sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla until creamy.
2. In a separate bowl mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. Sift the flour mixture into the wet mix and blend.
4. Once all blended together stir in chocolate chips.
5. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes.
6. Foil and spray cookie sheet.
7. I made about  1 1/2-2 in cookies, but you can make them any size you prefer.
 8.  Time will vary on size and oven.  I cooked mine for about 13 minutes.  Just keep an eye on them and when they turn a gold brown they are done! :)

Enjoy!

Another new job coming soon!

So excited! I was told today that I will be coaching the 7th grade softball team at a middle school nearby.  It's literally less than a mile from our new house. :) I couldn't be more excited to begin this new job! I had the opportunity to be one of the Assitant Coaches at the JC up in Humboldt where I used to live about two years ago and I truly enjoyed it so much so why not try being Head Coach at a middle school! haha I was hesitant at first but I thought about it and I seriously miss it so much and it'll definitely be a great opportunity to get my butt back in shape! ;) So many new things going on in my life and I am just trying to keep my head on straight. haha but I do have to say that I have such a wonderful husband and he is very supportive in everything I do.  Especially now a days when so much is changing and I am in transition from just school and waitressing to no school, get a real job! haha

Here's a throwback picture when we won Division 2 Nationals in Texas.
 Boy I miss those days.

New house, new job! Welcome 2013!

Wow Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I'm back!

Since my last blog sooooo much has been going on.  We moved in to our new house finally and boy was it a lot of work! Well my husband did a lot of the work. ;) He's such a great handy man, I just love him. Anyways, I'll just show you with pictures all that has been going on!

At last we are in and living. :) Still have a bunch of boxes in the garage but those can wait.  Lots of decorating coming.  I could just fill the whole house up this weekend with decor but I want the house to evolve and I want to make sure my husband and I love every piece we put in our home.  The pups had a rough first night and barked and paced what felt like all night long.  They are still getting used to all the different noises. Our neighbors are pretty awesome and I feel very blessed to have them around.  Nothing like a great house and great neighbors!

Okay enough about the house!  I began substituting and I am loving it! I have been doing K-8 and let me tell ya kindergarten isn't much different than 8th grade. haha When I was scheduled to do 8th grade English I was going to hit the fan and I thought oh man they are going to walk all over me.  But honestly, they aren't as bad as people make them out to be.  The maturity level of 11-13 year olds are priceless.  I can't help but laugh all day at the things that come out of their mouths.

OH!!! and one more thing! I began a Home Management Binder! I know this post is long but hang in there! ;) This binder includes everything from finance, to home, to cleaning, and check-off list. Next post I do will be about that binder! ;) I took ideas from other blogs I follow and created one that fits mine and my husbands lifestyle.  So come back and check it out!

TA TA!
