I'm Back!!!

Wow! It's been about two months since my last post! A lot has been going on around here from working, to traveling, to fixing the house up(yes we are still workin on it), to spending time with our families, and just tryin to fit in cupcake time with each other. ;)

I had mentioned that I got the coaching job, well that season is already over and we went 7-5! Not bad for my first time coaching! But boy are 12-13 year old girls a challenge ;) haha the things they say and do kill me. But I am so glad I had the opportunity to coach those girls, it was pretty fun and I also got to get back in the game and pitch to them. Can't wait for next season!

What I wanted to share was my big project I did yesterday! I have always wanted to Chevron a wall in my house.  I looked it up on how to videos, on pinterest, and everywhere else.  My head started spinning so I just went to home depot and just winged it.  Sometimes wingin it turns out the best! ;) Sorry I didn't take step by step pictures but I'll explain what I did.

Well it Looks a little crazy but:
1. First thing I did was make a grid on the entire wall.  I started in the top right corner and worked my way left. My squares were 12in x 12in and I used a yard stick and a leveler. I used a pencil but next time I would use chalk so you can just wipe it away.  I have to go back and erase all the pencil marks. Stupid me.
2. After the entire wall has squares all over it I started taping.  BEWARE it will take FOREVER to tape!  and I also went through an entire roll of painters tape. lol The way you tape you go from one corner to the other corner and you make a zig zap all the way across. I put little pieces of tape down where I don't want to paint.
3.  Make sure you push the tape down super hard to make sure there is no bleeding when you start to paint. I learned this the hard way when I did my bedroom. ;)
4. Start painting! I used one of the mini paint rollers that comes with its own paint sheet thingy.
5. As soon as your done painting all the zig zags immediately go back to the top and start taking the tape off.  Take your time, the paint will still be wet on the tape and you don't want to drop that on your carpet! (bryant would kill me if I got teal on our brand new carpet.;)
6. After alllll the tape is off the wall I went back and went over some spots that didn't get covered all the way. but beeeeeee CAREFUL not to ruin all your hard hard work!
7. TADA! You have your very own chevron wall! :)

Okie dokie! Thats all for now! I'll be back sooner than last time! ;)
